FREDERICTON, NB –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– Plug’n Drive and NB Lung are bringing free electric vehicle (EV) education and test drives to the 2025 Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Sustainable Communities Conference, taking place from February 10 to 13, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. As conference co-sponsors, they are providing attendees and the local community with an opportunity to experience clean transportation firsthand.
“Community leaders have the power to drive change by introducing EV education and test drives in their municipalities,” said Tracy Walden, Vice President Engagement at Plug’n Drive. “We invite them to visit our booth at the conference, sign up for a test drive, and discuss how we can bring this initiative to their communities.”
Melanie Langille, President and CEO of NB Lung, emphasized the health benefits of clean transportation. “Transitioning to electric vehicles is not just about sustainability – it is about protecting the air we share. By reducing vehicle emissions, we can improve air quality and contribute to healthier communities.”
Municipalities across Canada are playing a crucial role in the transition to sustainable mobility. Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for Everyone Cross-Canada Tour, NB Lung’s Drive Electric Program are supporting these efforts.
Conference delegates and accredited media are encouraged to visit the shared booth in the main foyer of the Fredericton Convention Centre to learn about EV adoption and explore opportunities to bring EV test drives to their communities.
FCM delegates can book test drive appointments in advance to guarantee their spot and will be required to show their delegate pass upon arrival. A limited number of walk-in spots will also be available for both conference attendees and members of the local community, on a first-come, first-served basis.
All drivers must be 21 years of age or older and present a valid Canadian driver’s license.
Plug’n Drive and NB Lung encourage municipalities and community leaders to engage with them on how to bring EV test drives and education programs to their regions. Hands-on experiences like these are key to accelerating EV adoption and supporting Canada’s transition to cleaner, healthier transportation.
