BLACK RIVER-MATHESON –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– 14 full-time municipal workers, members of CUPE Local 1490, have been on strike since October 15. But after coming within a hair of resolving the labour dispute, the Township of Black River-Matheson has chosen to prolong it, by insisting on their right to be vindictive once people go back to work, says CUPE Local 1490.
Now, the union is saying “It’s time to get a deal” during a rally that will be attended by allies and other unions from the surrounding region.
