GUELPH, ON –/COMMUNITYWIRE/– After months of bargaining for a new contract, community members from across Wellington County will show their support for CUPE 4392 workers over the weekend at two events in Guelph and Elora.
Developmental service workers play a vital role in their communities. While CUPE 4392 members have been fighting for greater investments in services and workers, Community Living Guelph Wellington has threatened further cuts that will harm the community. These events come just days before the two groups return for their final scheduled conciliation dates.

“This fight is about dignity – the dignity of workers who need to earn a fair wage and the dignity of people with disabilities who deserve the highest level of care,” said Sandra MacDonald, CUPE 4392 President. “We know how much our efforts mean to the people we support and to their families. And to see our communities rally behind us means so much to me and my coworkers. All of Wellington County is calling on Community Living to do the right thing.”
