STRATFORD, ON –/COMMUNITYWIRE/– As public hospitals in Ontario face unprecedented pressures, and the government resorts to privatization as a fix, health care workers represented by CUPE’s Ontario Council of Hospital Unions (OCHU/CUPE) are taking a stand to defend the public, not-for-profit system.
On Monday, September 25, hospital workers represented by CUPE 4727 in Stratford and CUPE 57 in Guelph will be travelling via bus to the Ontario Health Coalition’s rally at Queen’s Park in Toronto. The bus will depart from Stratford Mall at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
Treena Hollingworth, OCHU elected representative and president of CUPE 4727, will be available for media interviews this week as well as at 8:15 a.m. on Monday morning at the Tim Horton’s parking lot at the Stratford Mall.
