SUDBURY, ON –/COMMUNITYWIRE/– In the early morning after hours of marathon bargaining, members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4705, municipal workers in the City of Greater Sudbury, reached a tentative agreement, averting a strike.

“I am proud of the bargaining team and of my coworkers for sending a powerful message and for the work we’ve done at the table,” said Bryan Keith, President of CUPE Local 4705, representing the unit of roughly 500 outside workers. “We’re now prepared to present the tentative deal to the membership and bring it to a ratification vote.”

A ratification is upcoming soon. No further information regarding the tentative agreement will be publicly available until the ratification process is completed.
