BROCKVILLE, ON –/COMMUNITYWIRE/– Community members from across Lanark, Leeds and Grenville will join striking child protection workers and support staff from CUPE Local 2577 at a solidarity rally on Wednesday. While CUPE members remain focused on securing a deal that invests in services for children and families, they’re utilizing their strike to give back to their communities, hosting a series of free pop-up events for children and fundraising for local causes. CUPE National President Mark Hancock and Secretary Treasurer Candace Rennick will speak at this first rally which will also serve to collect donations for the local chapter of Girls Inc.
