ST. CATHARINES, ON –/COMMUNITYWIRE/– With an orderly start to the academic year in jeopardy, members of Local 1295 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will hold a rally and information picket on Saturday morning, August 13, in an effort to avert a strike at Brock University.

Negotiators for Brock failed to make a wage offer that adequately reflects either the rising cost of living or the contributions of its facilities management staff, who are preparing to begin job action on August 22.

Joining the information picket are CUPE Ontario’s Fred Hahn and Yolanda McClean, who will address the workers at 11 a.m.
