WINNIPEG, MB —/COMMUNITYWIRE/— The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) is pleased to announce that Syngenta Canada has generously donated $25,000 to support farm safety programs.

CASA works to promote farm safety through resources, training, and partnerships. CASA farm safety programs equip farmers, farm families, farm workers and farming communities with information and tools needed to make farms a safe place to live and work.

“Syngenta is helping support CASA programs that are very much needed,” says Andrea Lear, CASA’s Chief Executive Officer. “These dollars will positively impact the lives of Canadian farmers, farm workers and farm families.”

This generous donation will support CASA’s farm safety programming such as On-Farm Agricultural Worker Safety Training, a program for farm owners and supervisors to directly engage with farm workers in safety training; youth safety, working to educate and build awareness about farm safety for children and youth; and Safety for Women in Ag – a program working to discover gaps and opportunities to improve safety for farm women and families.

“Helping people stay safe through training is a key commitment Syngenta has made under our Good Growth Plan. We are pleased to expand our long-standing partnership with CASA to deliver this essential programming in Canada,” shares Syngenta Canada President Trevor Heck.

He adds that the work CASA is undertaking to identify the unique needs of each person on farm is an important step in making farms a safe place to live and work. By shinning the research spotlight on youth, children and women in agriculture, CASA is building a culture of safety and care that will serve future generations.
